"I don’t believe in failure as a concept - everything that happens is valuable. You learn something from everything - even if it is that you would not do it again, or that you are not ready for something, or that you have to do more practise, or learn a different way, or that you are not going to let others decide for you etc. My personal opinion is that if you believe you learn from everything you do, you can only move forward. It is a very constructive way of seeing the world and your place in it."

"Hard work is absolutely essential for success. I believe in perseverance and growth. If you don’t have a ‘natural’ talent, look at who is saying that, and why they are saying that. Talent comes in many forms, and just because it doesn’t look like someone else, or fit in to what is already constructed, it doesn’t mean there isn’t space for your way of interpreting your art form."

"If you’re not totally inspired and enamoured with the subject matter, it’s unlikely anyone will be inspired or enamoured with the final product. So, find something you love (ie. long walks) and get creating."
